Voices of the valley is our rural arts project currently taking place in the Rusland Valley, South Lakeland. Since launching the project in March this year we have filmed in blizzarding snow (at the spring show no less), close up on bluebells in beautiful spring sunshine and of course, who can forget the sideways torrential rain at the annual summer agricultural show? We have also been conducting interviews with local people about their lives in the valley past and present.

Voices of the valley will culminate in a series of local performances that will include film, digital projections, audio recordings and specially composed music played by a live band in 2014.

"This is more than just an activity they can get involved in — they are writing their own songs, making their own videos, learning how to express themselves. It’s given them a new way of life."
